Hello, I'm Laika!

I was born 28ish years ago, and grew up on a small farm in a backwater 'regional centre'. I'm a woman, I'm Australian, and now live in Naarm. I play the piano with passion, but not a great deal of skill. I sing a lot, even if it's not the best. If it wasn't already evident enough, I struggle to credit myself for talents.

I listen to a decent amount of music. At the moment I'm really into funk, indie sleaze, psytrance, and I'm slowly finding my way into midwest emo. Unfortunately for the pursuit of learning piano, both of these genres are suprisingly boring to play! Usually I try to play jazz, blues, or a little Michael Bolton (that silver fox uses a truly absurd number of chords, what a bastard!) I also play the bass and guitar, and one day I'll combine these talents and actually make an album!

Uhhh what else? I play a few games (mostly Dwarf Fortress, Elden Ring, Rimworld, Noita and occasionally CS2). I spend as much time as I can in the sun to avoid a deficiency of vitamin d, and to prevent seasonal affective disorder.. uhhh, i drink a lot of black coffee, although in recent years I've been trying to cut back. I'm learning Mandarin for kicks, and I recently made the switch to Linux!
